Carrier availability varies by state, operation type, fleet size, and underwriting requirements.
What Non-Fleet Insurance Covers
Core Coverage Options
Every policy is built around your specific operation — truck type, cargo, radius, and authority all shape the right coverage mix for an owner-operator.
$1,000,000 minimum — higher limits available
Covers bodily injury and property damage you cause to others while operating the truck. Required by FMCSA and most state regulators. The foundation of every owner-operator policy.
$100,000 – $500,000+ limits
Covers freight in transit if damaged or lost due to a covered cause. Wording matched to your commodity — general freight, refrigerated goods, steel, and high-value loads all need different language.
Collision + comprehensive coverage
Covers damage to your own tractor and trailer — collision, fire, theft, vandalism, and CAC coverage. Rated per unit with deductible options to match your budget.
Up to $1,000,000 / $2,000,000
Covers business risks not caused by truck operation itself — loading, unloading, premises exposure, and customer-site activities. Required by many brokers and shippers.
$250,000 – $500,000 limits
Physical damage coverage for non-owned trailers and chassis pulled under a written interchange agreement. Required for UIIA and most intermodal operations.
MCS-90, MCF — same-day processing
Interstate motor carriers must file proof of financial responsibility with the FMCSA. We handle MCS-90 endorsements, state UCR filings, and UIIA IANA certificates same-day.
Built for the real submission
New ventures, prior claims, and coverage gaps are welcome to request a review
Whether you are starting a new authority, returning after a coverage lapse, or bringing a claim history, the best place to start is with a complete picture of the operation. Tell us how and where you run, what you haul, who drives, and which customer requirements apply.
Bring current declarations, loss runs, driver and vehicle details, equipment values, operating radius, and any lapse information when available. Accurate context helps us organize a useful market review.
Every account remains subject to carrier appetite, licensing, and underwriting. A request for review does not guarantee eligibility, placement, pricing, coverage, terms, or binding.

What Does Non-Fleet Insurance Cost?
Owner-operator truck insurance pricing depends on what you run, how you run it, and your operating history. Two operators with the same truck can get very different rates based on these factors:
Truck class, year, stated value, and equipment configuration
Local, regional, or long-haul interstate routes
General freight, high-value, refrigerated, hazmat, oversized
CDL experience, MVR records, and driver safety training
Prior claims — both auto and cargo — in the last 3–5 years
New DOT numbers typically pay 15–25% more than seasoned operators
